My works reference the process of mutation and evolution undertaken by diverse organisms in order to adapt to their surroundings. In the same way, my work alludes to my own condition of displacement as a foreigner living in a different country, and the process of transformation in my identity and way of life.
My initial feelings of physical and psychological disorientation led me to search for a common denominator between my past and the vastly different culture and language of my adopted home. I centered on the skeleton as a visual reference to my core being and shared connection to other humans, as well as a link to enduring natural structure such as fossil.
