“Borderless" is a metal collage work in which I cut antique silver plates employed by people in the past and reassembled the pieces in the shape of armor shoes. I flattened my acquired silver pieces and cut them into new shapes. For approximately fifteen years, I have been dividing my time between Korea and the U S. and resulting in a nomadic self-identity.

The resulting fragments were reassembled into different configurations, many of which were inspired by historical arms and armor. my reference to armor relates to my impulse to protect myself during difficult periods; a metaphorical exoskeleton to help my feel fearless and secure.
